Could be thread tension. I would try a bit more or less on the top thread. When I first started with my LSZ, and something came up, I would email Sailrite. They were very helpful. Most of my problems seemed to pilot error.
I have been known to use a bit of super glue and/or thread locker.
Looks great! keep up the good work.
Follow instructions, and it works great. Used it on motorcycle seats and car seats with now problems. I repeat, follow instructions.
Pretty neat old chair. I think if it were mine, I would have to save it. I would use new fabric on it.
Most of the things that needs zippers, I just sew back and forth a few times. I hide the ends under the flap that hides the zipper far enough back that it can't be zipped that far accidently zipped to far.
Those machines were made 100 years ago. That don't mean that it isn't a good machine. Parts if needed may be scarce.
All that I have used so far has a backing. I seems to keep carpet from raveling while checking the fit before adding binding. I did try some non backed and didn't care for it.
It may vary with different upholsters. I make my patterns off the sew line, then add my seem allowance to that. I have on occasion fudged in 1/8" on the sew line just to tighten the cover a bit.
It would take a bit of time, but you could rewind them onto the metal spools. Should only take less than a minute for each. I have never tried cardboard spools, but it seems like an added cost.
Maybe this link can help a bit.

Looks great! Better than the original for sure.
Rushin used to have a store here in Tulsa, but things didn't work out. I have ordered from their store in Little Rock. Does Rushing cut foam to sizes needed?
Glad you came thru alright. If you could figure out what the front seat fit, perhaps you could make a bit off it. a friend gave me a couple bucket seats out of a Ford Ranger, year unknown, so I thought I would recover them just for the experience. Well, it was an experience alright and that's the en...
The customer furnished the wrong seat? Hopefully he paid you for your time and the material costs. Even if he paid, it still would be very aggravating for your time spent.
Thanks Big Rig, I sent Rushin Upholstery an email about the closing of my local supplier and got a response back that they had heard that there is a new supplier coming to Tulsa. That would be great. Wait and see and keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks, I will keep them in mind.
It was like losing my best friend..The only upholstery supply in town has closed. It was open for over sixty years and only an hour round trip for me. Now I will either have to make a 250 mile one 1 way trip to OKC or have stuff shipped. How do you all handle time or shipping for your supplies? This...
Be sure you add line up marks before you take stitches out. It may have marks or little notches.
I ended up with a 1.5 pulley that slowed the machine down to where it is pleasant to use. Seams like a smooth machine and really quiet. The 8mm stitches are really about 6mm and the 5mm are about 3mm. I will make an adjustment to that if I decide to use it for any top stitches. All and all I am plea...
