I'm new to upholstery and in my Lucky Needle course I see a reference to "Listing" the material at the very end of your fabric that is sewn on for a metal wire to go through and attach to the bottom of your seats. The current old seats had listing that is 2 inches long and I'm guessing it is a 4 inch piece of material that is folded over to make a loop that holds the wire. Does anyone know material is used? It is gray is color. In looking at the Albright Supply website they have what appears to be pre-made "listing" but the max length is 2" and it appears to be a plastic mesh. I'm looking for some guidance on what is the best option to create the best "listing". Open to advice. Thank you in advance.

I recommend making your own listing and using the metal wire because it will hold shape better. You can make listing out of any woven material. I usually use sunbrella canvas or muslin because I always have scraps around. You just dont want to use a material that will stretch overtime.

Hope this helps!

One other quick question, do you have a trusted source for the Muslin or Sunbrella Canvas? I looked on the Albright Website but muslin didn't come up and Sunbrella Canvas was not an option. There were other canvas options but I want not sure if those were different than the Sunbrella. I looked on Amazon but then started reading other reviewers asking if materials were upholstery grade...I'm not a huge fan of Amazon and would welcome a site that would carry exactly what is needed. Thanks again!

Thank you John, I'll look at local options. I'm trying to get all my outstanding items on one order and I forgot to mention the hog rings. Looks like there is a 5 lbs and a 25 lbs straight and bent back hog rings. Do you happen to know what size is used on the bottom of a standard bench seat? The original ones are more like a circle than a flattened square. Again, thank you in advance.

I buy what ever is cheapest. 5 lbs is plenty for multiple jobs. Bent hog rings are easier to install but the jaw opening isn't as wide making it a little difficult to fit tight fitting cover. Again I still go with the cheapest option.
