It's Not a welt cord that's french stitched in, I've tried that. It sits flush (the blue insert) with the gray. I've tried folding the gray and stitching it that way, it doesn't look right. There has to be a simple way of doing it, or not so simple???

I could be wrong, but i made some inserts like that a while back, and it should be just 2 hemmed edges with the blue in between. The blue may have 1/2" scrim while the rest has 1/4" or none. Gives it that bulky look but doesn't make it stiff or uncomfortable.

I've done it several ways, scrim on all of it is the ticket. I've even cut the scrim back on the grey about a 1/2" from the edge and it didn't look right. Thanks for the insight.
