This is the best place I’ve found, you should consider taking the online course here John offers.

I started by purchasing a used Pfaff 545 and enrolling in John's course. I didn't know was sewing a seam was what more how to do it. I remember watching one of John's beginning how to videos than going out to my garage and sitting down at the sewing machine to practice what I had just seen.
I'm a slow learner so I just keep practicing and learning.

Greetings @Adam . . .

You have come to a good place for learning. There are some nice training videos and a course that you can subscribe to on this site. I have not taken it, but others have to learn about upholstery sewing.

I am not familiar with the machine you mentioned. Does it have a walking foot and compound feed? Those functional aspects will make your upholstery work so much easier and looking better than a typical heavy duty machine.

Like many others, I have learned by doing . . . and it is a learning curve. Automotive interior work looks rather difficult (to me), but I have only done boat seating and canvas work.
