Photos of some plastic material found installed in a my neighbors Landrover. Is this a common automotive panel? What do you call it and where do you get it? He wants to make some upholstered panels.

Looks like it could be UHMW or HDPE, both very popular plastics in the industrial world. A google search should come up with vendors in your area

Yep plastic is a good choice for automotive panels. I mostly use ABS sheet in my interiors.

Where is a good place to get ABS sheet?

Do a google search for "Plastic supplier" in you area. There are usually quite a few suppliers that mostly supply sign shops but will sell to any one. In California I used to by it from a place called tap plastics.
