I have a problem with my thread tension discs sticking, making it very difficult to pull the thread through.
I use the polyester thread John suggests in his videos. Does it leave any sort of residue that would cause things to jam up?
Any suggestions of the best way to clean it?

@bajintas ,

How old is your thread? I have run into this problem and spray my spool of thread with Silicone spray. I would loosen the disc assembly and floss it out with cloth. They can be a puzzle to put back together if you take them right apart.

Thanks @BigRig , false alarm I'm afraid. Sorry.
The thread is only a few months old. There was a bit of gunk in between the discs but the actual problem was me. I changed needles, not realising the new one was smaller. Trying to drag all that thread through a small hole causes all sorts of problems
