What would be the reason for the hook to just stop rotating? Sewing along, all is good then it starts to knock. Pop open the door to get to the bobbin, rotate the machine by hand and the hook doesn't rotate. pull the bobbin, all is clear, rotate by hand and the hook doesn't move. Put the bobbin back in, grab some scrap, step on the treadal and it starts working. freaking odd.

@Scott D ,

I would remove your feeddog plate and blow that hook/bobbin case out. As well rotate the hook and look for thread. look relly close you may have thread wrapped in there that you cannot see.
