Hi folks-

I'm currently working (re-working) a restoration of a chair. "Re"-working because the nominally-brass tacks used to secure the leather were actually just plated. When the plating wore off, the iron in the tack heads reacted with the leather, causing some rather unpleasant staining. Is there a current source for brass tacks with solid brass heads? (Or better yet, the older style cast in one piece with a solid-brass shank and head?)

Thanks,
Jim

@JustJim, I believe one of the listings on Ebay will fill your needs. I did a search for "upholstery brass tacks."

Good luck,

John
