Hi
I’m new to Upholstering and had a question about Canvas. I have been looking for input on if I could use a canvas (like a painter’s drop cloth) to cover seat springs on a chair rather than the messy Burlap. If I do need to use Burlap should it be 17 OZ or is 10 OZ enough ? Thanks for your help.

@tompowers535, You can use anything that will protect the foam from being chewed up by the springs. Just yesterday I did a seat spring using burlap and then hog ringing a layer of demim over that. I know people who use heavy tapestry or other heavy material.
