@LeatherJohnny Thank you sir. It is definitely nice since its a huge show. I am fortunate enough to live in and work in the Reno/Sparks area and dont have to travel to get to see some amazing vehicles and interiors.

@jdenison89 ,
I have the patience for this kind of work. What type of thread are you using to hand stitch? I am using #92 for my machine and hand stitching with the same Bonded poly #92.

I'm actually Interested in that as well. I see people using so many different threads for hand stitching.
I usually use something a lot thicker than #92 @BigRig. Ive had problems with breaking 92 when hand stitching also. 92 also doesn't look thick enough to me for hand stitches.

I am breaking that #92 too but used my UV protected thread thinking it would be best considering the steering wheel gets a lot of sunlight.

@BigRig @John
Any visible thread is atleast 138, 207 if you want that extra "pop". If there are multiple pieces of the part to be covered that are stitched by machine i use 92. I use Serafil threads as well as Serabraid hand stitching threads.

@jdenison89 ,
Thank you, have you tried heavier like 270?

@BigRig Serabraid comes in 380 tex and higher. I have used the QTC contrast threads but they want to separate. I solved that by pulling the thread through bees wax

Thanks for the great Information @jdenison89! I have seen some guys doing the bees wax thing. Do you have to clean it off after your done sewing?

@John
It really isnt necessary but i suppose you could if it was heavily saturated with it.

@John, @jdenison89 ,
Just a thought, if the wax is for glide bowstring wax would work just great and maybe the synthetic better as it does not cake as much.

@BigRig
Might work like a charm, i havent had any experience first hand. Bees wax was just a traditional thing that was passed down to me . Ill have to try it out

@BigRig

That's awesome! Leave it to the Canadian hunter to come up with that idea. With all the diversity in backgrounds here, I don't think there is something we couldn't solve.

Hey guys,
Just wondering if you are using closed cell or soft foam under your steering wheel covers.
