Push button in, turn wheel until it clicks THEN handwheel gets tight and safety clutch pops when trying. Wont sew otherwise and in fact the foot starts walking backwards when trying.

My machine was sewing just fine before I attempted stitch length adjustments.

Have you taken the bobbin casting off and checked for thread wrapped around something? Or try turning it through with the foot up to isolate if it’s the bottom end or something in the top.
I’d also strip out the top thread and bobbin see if that makes a difference. It’s odd the foot is walking backwards!
Also turning it by hand and noticing where it starts to get tight should give some clues where to look, eg: needle up or down

@Revv Up,
No changes his machine is wonked!!!! I got it sewing once and it was basically sewing a straight line NO length to the stitches whatsoever. Tried numerous times to reset and it is currently walking the foot backwards. I have taken all apart blown everything out and cleaned it. I think its needs sent to the mechanic.

Try following the linkage from the stitch length adjuster to the foot and see if something shook loose along the way?

I got this machine sewing. It is dropping 6 and 1/4 stitches per inch. I am not touching anything now. Is that stitch length acceptable?

@BigRig If John can’t straighten you out give me a call on my cell, sounds like that would be faster and easier. 250 814 4604

Are you sure your pushing the correct button? You have one button for stitch length and one for resetting the safety clutch. They both look the same

@John
Got this baby sewing and it looks to be dropping 06 stitches per inch. Something is not right though, pressing that stich button down results in the tight wheel so not touching it for now. It sews

The stitches look a little irregular, what did you have to change to get it sewing?

I blew air into every hole and every single part of that machine, then soaked it down with Jig a Loo taking any potential gum buildup off any parts. I messed around with the stitch length button a tad and it was sewing, looked in the hole and it said 12. The dial moves to a new number as soon as you start sewing, never stays the same.

Perhaps your feed dogs are too tall or too low?

I had the machine service months ago and it works great now with the occassional hang up.
