Plastic Tack Strip?

I'm making a custom headliner for a ragtop VW Beetle, and the old one has this hard plastic extrusion on several of the edges.

Two questions -
1. does anyone know where I can buy this? I've found a similar thing in black (which would be fine) but it's way thicker than what I have so won't fit where it needs to go. This one is 3/4" wide and about 3/32" thick in the centre.

2. If I reuse the ones I have from the old headliner, what's the chances that I'll compromise the structural integrity of the strip by sewing through it a second time?

I've modified a headliner reusing the existing stip once, but I just hand stitched it using the existing holes, because I only had one piece to do. I'm not really down to hand stitch 10 strips.

I have re-used strips on seat covers where I sewed them on the machine. Haven't had a problem with them. I would make sure you aren't using a short stitch length that way damage them.

I’ve reused them before with no issues.
