I have found a Glaco DB620 for sale ( about $400) near me. I am new to industrial machines and have no idea if this is a good price or really what to look out for. It comes with a table and seems to be working well.

I am looking for something to do personal projects with and it won't be used in a business setting. Any information or insight on this machine would be appreciated.

If your going to be doing auto / marine upholstery that machine wont work, you need an industrial walking foot machine. That machine you posted is meant more for light weight materials.

I didn't realize I needed a walking foot to get started. I hope I can learn on this machine even if it's lighter material since I am an absolute beginner and know nothing. I bought it for $260 and it seems to be working fine according to a few people I showed it to. What I have no idea about is what I found in one of the drawers.

You should be fine to get started and learning on that machine. Once you start getting in to some bigger projects with multiple layers of thick material and foam being sewn you will want to start shopping for a walking foot.

Possible to track down the work history of the machine? Maybe it belonged to a family member that knew what the relative did for a living with it.

A friend of mine worked with a machine similar. One of the attachments is a ruffler and the other is a pleater. I think I can use the machine to learn on light stuff and then move up. It was cheap so I thought it would be a good place to start.
