Yesterday I noticed a posting on Facebook Market place for a Consew 206 RB3 sewing machine. It was being sold by an auto accessory place that used to sew some of their seats but now buys everything pre-made. Anyway it had a listing price of $500 or offer and a notation it had been sitting for about 2 years.
My buddy was looking for a machine so I called and offered $400 and told him I would get it this morning.
I picked it up today and it's free and looks like it will sew. I will do a complete cleaning per John's video and change the motor over from a clutch type motor. With a set of welting feet and a new motor we will have about $675 complete into the unit.
Like John says shop around there are deals out there. I checked MarketPlace, Craigs List and Ebay three times a day for over two weeks until I found "my deal".

That's a smokin deal on that machine! If you are patient the deals are still there even though the value on most tools has gone up a lot in the last few years.
