335? Awesome machine! I've been looking for one of these for a little bit. Didn't find one at a reasonable price, but I did find a Necchi 840 that nearly does everything this one does, with a binder included. Congrats!

Nice! Does anybody have experience on Post bed vs Cylinder arms in auto upholstery?
Flat top "attachment" can be made for both making it "flat bed" if needed.

I found source for machines and purchased 2 walking foot post bed Singer's. Single and double needle. They were so cheap that I had to get them just to try how it works. Especially double-needle on post should allow making nice headrests with french seams.

@luxuryluke yes it's 335. I was fortunate. My husbands aunt had it to repair hockey gloves.....she gave it to me....
@IvanD Ivan my experience with the cylinder and post is exclusively with hockey and lacrosse equipment. No automotive.
However, I sewed dental chairs for over 10 years on a flat table. The stuff I had to topstitching was way harder than a car head rest.
Learning and being able to control your machine is the key no matter what machine you use.
No matter what you are sewing on you will not have a nice topstitch if you don't have control. You need 2 hands to hold and position the seam.

Would you be able to do french seams like this on single needle flat bed machine? I know I cannot, but I am a beginner..

@IvanD iv definitely I sure could. ...check out some of the dental chairs. A much smaller space. ..it's not easy but takes practice and time.
Sometimes it's one or two stitches at a time
