Piping cord size

I searched, but didn't find a post on piping cord.

I chose my name as I know next to nothing... I reupholster things rarely. When you answer me, you get to say... so idiot, you need to do xyz.

My issue:
I have a very small project replacing chair cushions on an outdoor set. I need to make the piping. I have a Babylock serger with a 5mm cording foot that I used a long time ago and got a good result.

My question:
I cannot remember what or how I sourced the cord for the piping in my last project. I'm using Sunbrella fabric for cushions that will be in a roofed area outside. Where might I buy the cord? Should it be cotton or something synthetic?

I get to be an "expert" on another forum and like to pay it forward. I appreciate your time with this extremely basic question, but couldn't get anything other than advertisements when trying to get this information on a Google search.

You can buy the cording. At Albright supply.
If it’s for outside. You do not want the cotton. You want the marine cording. The hard piping.

For outdoor or marine you definitely want Poly Welt. Albright's has it available but it's by the roll only. 5/32" is the most common size but we also have 4/32" or 6/32" - https://www.albrightssupply.com/poly-welt
