Has anyone ever used sheep hide for a project? If so, what did you use it for and how has it held up? I found someone who is selling some and am kind of curious if it's worth trying out.

If you are referring to sheep “hide” leather, I do not have any experience with it, however, if you mean sheepskin (hair on hide) then yes, we use this for aviation seat covers and it holds up really well. Great for keeping the seats cool in summer and warm in winter.

Sheep hide leather. I ended up buying some, it's very soft but very thin too. I guess it's typically used for clothing but some have used it for various seats for the home or in cars.

I used sheep hide for a cozy chair cover, and it turned out great. Super soft and has held up well over the years. It’s awesome for adding a bit of rustic charm to projects like cushions, rugs, or even wall hangings. If you can get it at a good price, I'd say go for it!
