Hi all. I'm needing advice from experts. I have a little job to do 5 box cushions for a rv. I have to cut the foam and make the covers. The client picked a nice vinyl from Joann's for the covers. Its basically two very small bench seats (making the seat cushion and back rest cushion) that turn into a bed (so making the middle cushion too) My question is should the foam be just a little bit larger so that it fits nice and snug or should it be the exact measurements? Also, should the vinyl be a tiny bit smaller so its good and snug or should it also be the exact measurements? Thank you!

I typically make the foam 1/2” larger on each side. So 1” in length and width.
This will put the upholstery in tension, however, the higher the density foam the harder it will be to put the cover on the foam, so if it is a high density foam you may not want so much oversize.

It sounds very similar to the Dinette/bed in my class A motorhome. Although mine only has 4 cushions. 2 bottoms and 2 backs.

If it is, the 2 backs are to be placed where the table drops down to complete the bed. A separate 5th cushion should not be needed.

Do you have pics of where they are to go in the customers unit?

@WILD BILL I thought it would be just the four cushions too as that is exactly how my dinette is in my travel trailer. My client asked for 5 cushions though so they don't have to move the back rest cushion to make up the bed. But you right its like a dinette but a lot smaller. Its only about 26 inches wide.
