I'll be starting my seat cushions and have a center section that is pleated. I plan on using scrim foam and sewing the pleats and have a few questions.
First what thickness would be appropriate? The pleats will be 3/4" or 1" wide, recalling from memory so am not sure. I'm leaning towards either 1/4" or maybe 3/16", I think 1/2" might be too thick for the narrow pleats.
Second, any suggestions on what to use? I'm talking about type of foam and backing material. Since this is a boat, it will get wet however the boat is normally garage kept and may stay on the water a week out of the year.
I had pleated sections in one of my other boats years ago that were sewn by an upholstery shop so I know it held up for about 15 years with my type of use.
