Which motor would be best for Rex 607 sewing machine in replaying the small one attached already?
Would it be advisable to use 220v instead of the original 110v indicated?

Get the Sailrite one: https://www.sailrite.com/Sailrite-Workh ... Motor-110V weather it is the 110V or The 220 V is you to you and what is the voltage of where your gonna use it. I have the 110V one on my Rex 607 and it is GREAT

IMO I have the REX 607 also , I would not put a bigger servo motor on it. The stock 110v one is fine with the monster wheel , the 220v volt stock one will not make any difference in power output it is just less amps in at a higher voltage

Everyone has their own opinion. I tried the Monster wheel way and still could not control the speed they way I wanted. I put the Work Horse motor on it and can do 1 stitch at a time and can stop it with the needle up or down. The problem I am having now is your not suppose to use the Monster Wheel with the Work Horse motor. And the stock wheel uses the friction clutch and it has started slipping. Sailrite will not sale me a posi-pin clutch system because I have a Rex and not a Sailrite.

I Would be a bit Leary direct coupling that much power to the Rex. I have had mine bind up a couple times and it just slipped the clutch rather than braking something. I kept the clutch with the monster wheel and it worked out good on marine vinyl and outdoor fabric, leather I think would be a problem . I did find that when oiling the back bushing the oil migrates to the fly wheel and causes it to slip easier so keeping the clutch clean and dry helps but then winding bobbins I have a 6 pound steel flywheel spinning on a dry steel shaft.

Wow. Thanks Kra z bill and Tom Mann.

very much appreciate the points.
@ Tom Mann. I have the monster balance wheel on this machine.
initially,it was a struggle winding bobbins because I couldn't figure out how to disengage the hand clutch after installing the balance wheel.
upon a bit of study I realize I could easily by taking the belt of the wheels and loosing the two screws in the balance wheel. After I screw tight.

on the sailrite posing pin,I don't know if Barracuda also produce same. Because I recently saw the machine online similar to those my sailrite.

All in all,I think we get better with a little bit of patience and knowledge from the expects in this house. ie.John Big Rig and the other amazing others. Hut off to you all.

I made my own "Monster Wheel" for my REX 11-155r walking foot. I also installed a 1 1/2" pulley on the motor and extended the motor control arm. The machine sews like a dream now and very easy to control. Total cost to make chanes $12.00
