I have a project on some sofas,they were initially made with vinyl but the coating on the fabric is peeling off.
I have bought vinyl to replace it but it looks stretchy. Also I feel this will generate heat when in use.

is it good using vinyl in this sort of projects?

currently trying to sew using thread size 3,6,9 on my machine.
using thread no.6 it isn't coming out well since the stitches look zigzag.

sorry for the numbers of size. The threads we get here are nylon threads for fishing. is it acceptable?

why then is the under part of the my work doesn't look straight?

@Hope Komla ,

I admire your efforts and realize you are pretty isolated there. If it were my sofa and I already had the vinyl purchased I would recover. I know you dont want sweaty rear ends from vinyl and the heat but you could protect your efforts by sewing up a top cover for the cushions. If you just have the nylon thread then use what your machine sews best. Are you able to show a picture of the underside?
