Seam rippers.

I got a little creative today.
Might not be new to some put it sure sped things up for me today

That will work.

I've used a folding razor knife like you get at the hardware store before but lately I've been turned on to scalpels. I have a #4 handle with a #22 blade that I use for fine detail cutting in fabric and a #3 handle with a stitch cutter blade for seam ripping. Looks Like a #12 blade is about the same as the SC blade which can be harder to find.

Get the good one with the replaceable blades not the cheap ones that are molded to a plastic handle. They don't seem as sharp.

I swear, I just show the thread the scalpel and it falls apart in fear LOL Literally just the slightest touch of the blade and the thread is cut.

I typically hold the blade in my right hand, while spreading the seam with both hands cutting towards my self seems to give the most control.

Make sure it is a dull blade rips great.

I actually found I prefer and am less likely to damage the material using a very sharp blade.

Which ever way works best for you I say go for it.
