Hello everyone
I am getting ready to make a set of V-berth cushions for a customer.
Cutting foam is easy, when the sides are straight, but how do you suggest cutting the sides at an angle to follow the hull.
I have a 12” foam/fabric saw that has a rolling base but it only cuts at 90 degrees, so straight cut.
Any ideas on making a jig to get the angle needed?
Or should I try to modify the saw base ( a lot of work) or do you have a better idea?

Personally I would cut a board of some type/size at an angle and run the base of the saw against the angle cut. You may have to do some up spacing of the foam piece but your could easily control the angle of the cut this way.
I would also cut a few inches in to the foam not just try to cut a open edge.
Just my two cents worth of opinion.

This is how i do it. Once you do your math and find the angle, mark the foam. I use the table edge as a lower guide and the mark on top as an upper guide. Keeping the saw foot in level contact with the table lip as i cut if that makes sense.

And spray your blades with a silicone spray lubricant. It's amazing how much it helps and won't hurt the foam

I do the same as Adam12 except I use a straight edge (either a long ruler or a piece of plywood) along the top line so I have 2 hard edges to run my electric knife against as I would probably wander off line if I didn't.

Not sure I fully understand the straight edge part? Any pics ???

If you look back at the first pic Adam posted you'll notice a line drawn on the top of the foam.

lay a straight edge like a long ruler or piece of plywood along that line.

now you have 2 hard edges to act as a guide for the blade
